Multi-stage flash (MSF) desalination

MSF plants heat seawater under pressure and then allow it to flash into steam across multiple stages. NEOTISS titanium Grade 2 tubes are the material of choice for MSF applications, offering unmatched corrosion resistance in seawater environments with excellent long-term reliability.

Multi-effect distillation (MED)

MED plants achieve desalination through a series of evaporation effects at progressively lower pressures and temperatures. NEOTISS supplies titanium welded tubes for MED evaporator bundles, including NEOTISS™ Helix tubes where enhanced heat transfer performance is required.

Materials and performance

Titanium Grade 2 is the dominant material for desalination tube applications due to its outstanding resistance to seawater corrosion, biofouling resistance, and excellent mechanical properties. NEOTISS™ Helix tubes deliver proven heat transfer improvements that allow smaller, more efficient plant designs.
