Retrofitting heat exchangers in aging plants is an opportunity to extend the life of the unit but also to improve the overall performance. Low fin tubing is available in many corrosion resistant alloys (duplex, stainless steel , titanium…) and can provide up to 250% increase in shell-side surface area without modifying the shell size or piping layout.
